At the Kiambu County Empowerment Network (KCEN), we believe that informed citizens are the foundation of good governance. Recently, our team partnered with local civil society organizations to host a civic education forum in Thika Town.
The session brought together over 150 community members, youth leaders, and women’s groups. Discussions focused on citizen participation, budget transparency, and the role of communities in monitoring service delivery.
Participants shared challenges such as limited access to information and a lack of structured engagement with local authorities. In response, KCEN facilitators provided toolkits to help communities track projects, report issues, and advocate for accountability.
This initiative is part of KCEN’s ongoing commitment to ensure that every voice counts in Kiambu County. Through knowledge-sharing and collaboration, we are building a more transparent, inclusive, and empowered society.
